The IQSO was founded in 1988 by some fanatic Queen collectors and is recognized by the Official Queen Fanclub. The idea behind the IQSO originated from the personal experience of the founder: the fact that swapping items is more beneficial than buying them. An example : For an American collector it is difficult finding that Italian-only release and he/she probably has to pay a considerable price for it when he/she does find it. The same applies for an Italian collector concerning an American-only release. This problem must be well known to collectors all over the world; the solution is simple: SWAPPING! The only difficulty with this solution is finding the swap-partner with whom you can make a balanced swap that is mutual interesting and beneficial (the demand list of a person never matches with the 'what's on offer' list of another person). This is where the IQSO comes in. THE IQSO tries to supply all its participants with their Queen-wants by coordinating demands and offers from a worldwide network of Queen collectors. To overcome the problem of making a balanced swap the participants of the IQSO don't swap with several other participants, but just with the IQSO. This way our stock (which currently includes more than 800 different items) changes constantly which enables us to provide our participants with a huge 'what's on offer' list. With the demands and offers list of a partcipant we compile a swap-proposition which the participant may accept. Such a swap-proposition is always balanced taking the value of the items into consideration, so we swap value for value, not item for item! If the participant accepts the swap-proposition he/she has to send us the items asked for and in return we'll send him/her the swap-items. Sending off all those parcels is of course very expensive and you can imagine that we can't pay for that ourselves. That's why we ask every participant to pay for the postage costs in some way; this can be done by some kind of payment or by including an extra item in the swap-proposition. We try to sell these extra items, this way obtaining the necessary finances to run the IQSO. A copy of our current set-sale list is available online or upon request by sending us 1 International Reply Coupon (IRC), or by sending an E-mail. A copy of our current stock list is also available online or in return for 2 IRC's, or by sending an E-mail Do you want a piece of the swap-action and join the IQSO? Then send us your complete demands and offers list by E-mail or accompanied by at least 1 IRC if done by normal mail; make both lists as detailed as possible, at least stating country of origin and condition (according to the Record Collector Grading System).
