Hello, let me introduce myself. My name is Celista and I'm a sugar addict. No, that doesn't mean that I daily take large amounts of sugar, but that I like to work with sugar. In 1995 I first heard about this hobby. In September of that year I went to a course Cake Decorating at the A.C.D.S. in Anna Paulowna. At first I would only follow the basic course, but during the first lesson I already knew that I wouldn't stop there. I saw such beautiful things in the classroom that I thought: 'I'd like to be able to make such things!' So after the basic course was over, I went on and followed all the other courses that were available at the A.C.D.S. Meanwhile, I made cake for family, friends and colleagues who asked me to, so I got more and more experienced. Thanks to the A.C.D.S. I got some friends who shared the same passion and in 1998 we started The Sugarladies (see Sugarladies for more information). We try to make a trip to England together every year, where we visit cake decorating shows. In 2000 I went to Farnham for a week where I also took a course at Squires Kitchen . This course was given by Maisy Parish and it was a joy and inspiration.
Through this site I'd like to introduce you to my hobby. You can see much of the cakes I made so far. Some pictures are from a lower quality than the others, which I apologize for. These are pictures from the time I didn't have a digital camera yet. Many cakes that I've made are from examples in magazines and books. Debbie Brown, Carol Deacon, Ann Pickard, Lindy Smith and Linda Pawsey are my greatest examples. For their books, take a look in my bookshop.
If you want information about this hobby you can always send me an email. You can't order cakes, I only make them for family and friends. I'd love it if you write something in my guest book.
Have fun,
Celista
