Measuring the original

As mentioned the boat was measured and lofted during acourse at the school for boatbuilding(at thetime still in Enkhuizen, the Netherlands)

Without going too much into detail (otherwise Bert is out of a job) here follows a short discription.

After placing the boat upside down and making sure the waterline (that was still visible), measuring could start. Measurements are taken on the outside, keep this in mind when reading the drawings.

As can be seen here, a nice big workface is handy. We used a worktop the lenght of the boat and littleover half the width. A large roll of paper was used to put the original drawing on. This makes it a loteasier later on if you only need a part of the drawing.
